HVAC systems include Rooftop Chilled Water VAV AHU’s, with associated Variable Flow Venturi valves and hot water heating coils to serve the supply air to the individual zones. Laboratory & General Exhaust Fans centrally located on the roof, with integrated controls responsive to Fume Hood operation and Make-up Air demand. Hot water for the heating coils are provided by Boiler and pumps externally located. Domestic hot water is provided by. Electric & Gas heaters. Lighting controls and fixtures respond to schedule and occupancy sensors to reduce lighting energy consumption during unoccupied space use. Emergency power provided by Diesel generator to power lighting and limited HVAC systems.

Space lighting is provided by high efficiency lighting fixtures with incorporation of natural day-lighting throughout the work and residential spaces. The station is provided with Diesel generator and renewable energy via photovoltaic panels on steel canopies. The building is designed to reduce thermal heat gainthru low roof reflectance value 29, and reduce water consumption thru low-irrigation desert scape, and permeable pavers
